D Jayashankar who grabbed 3 quick scalps and threw a direct                      hit at a crucial juncture of the game.

On a cloudy Sunday at KLN College of Engineering, the eagerly anticipated match (after a month of delay due to poor conditions and rain halting 2 matches) took place despite initial doubts about the weather. Arasaradi CC won the toss and opted to bowl first, setting the stage for an exciting contest against Spark CC. Spark CC's innings started poorly, with the team collapsing to 26 for 6. However, Balram emerged as a standout performer, scoring a remarkable 61runs off 62 balls, including 3 fours and an impressive 7 sixes. His explosive batting was crucial in lifting Spark CC to a total of 95 runs, rescuing the team from a dire situation. For Arasaradi CC, D Jayshankar played a pivotal role with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 33 runs in 6 overs. His consistent performance reinforced his reputation as one of the team's most valuable players.(D Jayashankar has represented Arasardi for close to 1.5 decade right from his early teens )

In the second innings, Arasaradi CC confidently chased down the target, driven by an impressive knock from Syed Aziz. He scored a blistering 51 runs off just 23 balls, showcasing his explosive batting ability and helping to accelerate the chase significantly. Prithvi Neal also contributed with 33 runs off 29 balls, while the team cruised towards victory. Hari Krishnan, bowling for Spark CC, delivered a disciplined performance, taking 2 wickets for just 12 runs in 1.4 overs. His left-arm bowling effectively utilized the conditions, creating pressure on the Arasaradi batsmen.

Ultimately, Arasardi CC chased down the target comfortably, winning the match by 8 wickets. This victory highlighted key individual performances, particularly Balram for Spark CC, and the impactful contributions from Syed Aziz and D Jayashankar for Arasaradi CC.

Additionally, highly talented youngster  Gnanadhakshin continued to struggle, failing to cross the double digit mark for the third consecutive inning, raising concerns about his form.Gnanadhakshin should resolve to play cautiously while playing his natural game freel. There is a big onus on him to build the innings and provide a solid start at the top. Johan, only 15 years old, has consistently taken 3 wickets in recent matches, showcasing his potential as a rising star. (this writer feels he needs to focus more on his bowling, and he needs to withdraw his playfulness) Sankar made his return to the Arasardi team after a five-game hiatus, adding depth to the squad, while taking two important wickets in the top order.

In conclusion, despite the cloudy conditions, the match provided thrilling moments and highlighted individual talents that could significantly impact future games. Balram’s explosive batting and D Jayshankar’s effective bowling were the highlights of the 1st innings, while Syed Aziz's blistering knock led Arasaradi CC to a convincing victory, marking a memorable day of cricket at KLN College of Engineering. As they move forward, Arasardi CC must address their readiness for the tougher challenges that lie ahead, ensuring they are prepared for the competition that awaits them.

I have made plans to write interesting articles on cricketing players from Madurai in near future. Heard a lot about the annual matches that took place between TVS Madras and TVS Madurai. Thanks for sharing your experiences, truly it would have been amazing seeing Venkataramana Sir and J Ramdas climbing up the ladder whilst playing alongside you.
